We have two of this type of Barbie: one in pink and one in purple. Our two little girls love these "Princesses!" We like them because these are the first two Barbies to keep their shoes at our home. Our youngest daughter is under three. The shoes are permanently affixed to her legs. These dolls are a little freaky in the sense that their belly buttons and feet light up as well as the necklace. I know it is supposed to be her belt that lights, but when she loses her clothes her belly button lights. they are not that durable as some other Barbies. the one's eye shadow is already wearing off and the other one's foot broke off (and now no longer lights up) and we had to supper glue it (after just owning them for three weeks). But the girls seem to not be bothered by any of these mishaps. They enjoy playing with them after the hospital visit to have Barbie's leg fixed. I think this product is very imaginative and durable. The only reason I gave durability four stars instead of five is because there are some small parts that come off (they are meant to), sometimes my daughter needs help putting them back on, but as far as the toy is made, it's made very durably. I'm sure this toy is intended for children older than two, but we gave this toy to my daughter when she turned two because she had played with it at a toy store, and she LOVES this toy. She's now had it for six months and she still plays with it all the time. The rabbit family and baby rabbit twins accompanied the house when we gave it to her (purchased separately). It is expensive, but my daughter has definitely gotten our money's worth out of it. There are some smaller pieces that you'll want to remove if your child gets easily frusterated or is still younger than three or maybe even four (such as the very charming little baby mobile on the 2nd floor, which is in four parts).
