My five year-old daughter desperately wanted the Moxie Girlz car for Christmas. Turns out, it looked more exciting on television than it actually is. Since she's gotten it, she's played with it about twice. Ever since then, it's been sitting untouched. Her friend down the street also got one. I thought they'd play with the cars together. I guess her friend doesn't play with it anymore, either.
The car came with one marker (pink). How fun is that? This is marker on plastic. If you've ever written with marker on plastic, you know how that goes. It can smear all over until it sets. Once it sets overnight, it is permanent. This is not an erasable marker on a wipe-off surface. Even when wiped off soon after marking, there is a stain. I think it would have been better as a write-on wipe-off surface.
The car runs well on our carpet or hard surface. The girls have the option of driving straight forward or backward turning right. The backward turn is at a very large angle. For very short distances, it looks like it's going straight back. This is the only way for the girls to turn the car's direction of travel. It must back up. I don't know if the makers are skimping because it's a girls' car; but really, they should make a car that turns going forward.
The top of the car comes off so the girls can place a doll inside. My daughter said she doesn't want to put her Barbies and other similarly sized dolls in because one of them couldn't sit in it and her other ones were too big. We didn't buy Moxie Girlz dolls.
I wouldn't call this a complete bomb. It needs more markers and the RC function could be better. Otherwise, it works, but it just didn't capture my daughter's interest.

UPDATE:
My daughter saw me writing the review for this toy and has taken an interest in it. She colored the entire car with the included marker and another marker she has at home. She thinks it's beautiful.
She's also been running the car around the house. It is getting some play time. Instead of dolls, she's tried putting tiny stuffed animals inside.
I still think the car needs improvement in driveability and more markers. And although my daughter plays with it, it's just a few minutes here and there. That does up the star rating, though. If she decides it's the world's best toy, I will come back to give it four stars.Get more detail about
