I don't think it matters to the kid who received this baby as a gift, but I was disturbed by the heavy, elongated neck stem that extends from the head about halfway into the torso of this doll. You can feel it through the plush body, and it and the heavy head make the doll very top-heavy. I bought a Corolle for my daughter and this Madame A. for her friend, and I wish I'd gotten the Corolle for both. The face on the Madame A. is slightly prettier and more detailed, but the construction is not as fine and it doesn't smell as good as the Corolle. The Corolle smells like vanilla, and the face has a smooth, almost silky feel.
